(CNN) -- A plane went off a runway after landing Sunday at California's Santa Monica Airport, said a spokesman with the Federal Aviation Administration.
Ian Gregor, the spokesman, did not know how many people were on board the twin-engine Cessna Citation at the time of the incident. There were no immediate reports of injuries.
The plane, which departed from Hailey, Idaho, struck a hangar, Gregor said.
Firefighters responded to the scene of the crash, where black smoke rose from the ground, CNN affiliate KABC reported.
