places to hike in hudson valley ny?

Im looking for a long trail, not something I can do in a day, where I wont have to really cross roads or anything. What I would really like is if their are any trails, official or just woodland, that run up to albany. Basically, I just want an adventure in the woods that could last atleast a week, not just staying in one place.

the best long hikes are further up north from albany in the adirondacks...

the Northville-Placid trail is like a hundrdd miles long and runs from the town of northville in the southern ADK's all the way up to lake placid--theres alot of info about it online and you could pick certain segments to do if you dont wanna do the whole thing

Check out the Appalachian trail. That thing stretches through half the country, and it's not very far. I used to hike it for a few miles, nice sights to see.
