It is not your AV cables. That would be 4 red lights.

E74 is a hardware problem. Microsoft extended the warranty to E74 to 3 years just like they did for the Red Ring of Death. Call 1-800-4-my-xbox to get it fixed.

From what I know, the E74 error is unfixable. Try the other AV cord anyways, but you'll probably end up sending the thing to Micorsoft.

Ok, I was playing Halo 3: ODST. I was on the second to last level on legendary, with some friends, and it started to pixelate randomly. (Blue, red, purple, green, sparkling.) At first I thought it was lag, then I asked my friends , the ones I was playing with, what happened. One person said it was my AV cords. They told me to unplug them and plug them back in, It didnt work. So at the end of the game, we were about to start the last level, but I told them I would be right back and turn off my xbox and turn it back on. Once I turned it back on, an E73 error message came up, and my xbox had one flashing red light. Then I tried it again, and it said E74. Then I unplugged everything and plugged it back in, it still said it.THEN I unplugged my hardrive and tried. It STILL didnt work. So then I just unplugged the av cord from the xbox, then turned it on and it didnt flash the red light. I know NOTHING about technology, so ya. PLEASE be detailed. Thanks. I will be checking this CONSTANTLY. My friend is coming over to try his AV cord on my xbox, and if it works, he will give it to me. Help, thanks.

I have call 1-800-4my-xbox, they dont help unless your indian, (No offense to indians), but everyone who has had this problem said it WAS the AV cords. (Three colored cords, right?) It has to be the av cord because it pixelated. Cant I fix this my self or give it to someone else other than microsoft if it isnt the av cord?
