Pixar's UP

I saw up in 3D at the cinema.

Didn't like the film at all.

Of course everybody cried in the first 20 minutes, you were meant to. Even down to using the, imo, blatently plagerised Chaplin theme tune. But Chaplin did it first, 90 years ago.
The rest was just poor, poor script, poor characterisation, poor plot, poor inevitable chase scene.

As for the comparison with Howl's Moving Castle, well yes they dragged the house around. But there was more wit, imagination and real emotion in HCM than anything spoon fed to audiences in this dog's dinner of a movie.

Speak-Softly, I think it's been established by now that we don't agree on much. So when I saw that you'd commented here, I clicked into the thread, fully expecting you to be slating the film.

Glad to see I wasn't disappointed. ;)

Watched it courtesy of a DVD copy my brother bought for my mother as a Mum's Day present...

Definitely one that I'll pick up asSQUIRREL!.... well.

OMG I have a stalker.
Anything for my fans. :p

Had to trawl back through the thread to get your view.
Sorry, thought WallE was pants as well. :D

Did like the Princess and the Frog and completely adored Ponyo.
That's probably put you off both now. :o

EDIT

Fraser, the best television program almost of all time. Still miss it, still watch it when it pops up.

I suppose that has to be the exception that proves the rule.

I'm with Speak-Softly on this one (to a degree - not quite as harshly). Got the blu-ray for my boy and thought i'd enjoy the film. It was.... OK. The first 20 mins didn't make me cry (and since having my two children i cry at pretty much anything - the first bars of Adagio for Strings, chick flicks, adverts for abused children/animals/elderly... even Wall-E). The rest of the movie was just plodding along. Didn't move me at all. Wall-E on the other hand portrayed amazing emotion in two robots. No dialogue was needed.

Each to their own though. If you enjoyed the film then i'm glad. If you didn't then move on to the next one! :)

Up was amazing..........it was everything an animated film should be, a very emotional beginning, great characters that have you laughing with their crazy antics, while at the same time sticking to their goal at hand.

This film didn't get an oscar the sandra bullock did, it actually deserved it, lol.

but what can I say, that's just my opinion
