Pixar's UP

no - the 3d screen is always how it used to be - if you take the specs off, its blurry.

but it is being shown in non 3d. cheaper too!

i saw this in 3D, but felt like it wouldnt really have made any differences in 2D or 3D - just the price!
 
Dragged up this thread since the release is next week. Knew nothing of this film but downloaded the PS3 game demo and fell in love with it. Its on in 3D in my local Odeon so i'll grab all the nephews and nieces along for the ride! :D

And just to irritate them further I believe they're talking Best Picture Oscar for Up. I know WALL-E went through the same hoopla, but this time the category is larger so it has a better chance.
 
Fantastic film, another step forward in Pixar's evolution.

Can't say I found it hilarious though. Just the Star Wars parody which I laughed at and got a glare from some ***** a few rows in front once the house lights came up. What can I say? I found it funny. Pardon me for enjoying it!

Anyway, great film. I'd rank it higher than WALL-E and Ratatouille.
 
I can't believe how little advertising there has been. In fact, I've yet to see a trailer on TV but I have seen the Toy Story 3D double-bill one.


Although the local Disney store has some great vignettes playing on their large screen including one with Russell pressing his face to the "glass" and looking around. :D
 
That was the bit that nearly set me off, but being a manly man I fought back the urge to blub my head off!

It's a really lovely film, probably one of Pixar's best (IMHO) and well worth a trip to the cinema, wouldn't bother going to see it in 3D though, while being technically impressive I felt it added absolutely nothing to the film apart from washing the colour scheme out completely.

The short at the start was as excellent as ever.
 
Still can't decide wether to see it in 2D or 3D !!!

I don't really like novelties or distractions - I just want to concentrate on the film.


What do you peeps suggest ??
 
I haven't seen it in 3D, but for those who have, is it really any better?

I think that a storyline should attract an audience, not the idea of talking dogs jumping out at you.

Film was fantastic though. Quite possibily the best Disney/Pixar film ever.
 
I'll be seeing it in 2D this week(do all cinemas offer both if they have the 3D version?), going during the week, be less busy for sure, we have a relative visiting, so going to take them to see it. :)

Can't wait.
 
We saw it in 3d and it really wasn't a distraction at all. I suppose that could support some FMs' contention that it isn't worth the extra money! However, I think it added a lovely extra 'depth' to the scenes without going the route of continually having irrelevant or extraneous objects flying out of the screen into your face.
 
It would be hard to say unless you saw both the 2d and 3D versions,but for me the 3D adRAB extra depth to an already emotional story:cry:
