Pitch your own series re-vamps, spin-offs, etc.

If I may interject, I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that by "making The Jetsons more like Futurama" kid rabbit means that he/she would like to see a Jetsons update with edgy, PG-rated humor and a darker tone a la Futurama, though I'm not sure if many hardcore H-B devotees would approve of a Jetsons peppered with language and innuendo. For an idea of what an "adult" Jetsons would be like, watch the Harvey Birdman episode "Back to the Present", in which the Jetsons guest starred.

Well here's a few ideas I have thought about. Some of them Spinoffs, some of them rehashs of old ideas, and even a few new ones.

First off, How about a CGI version of Harmony Gold's Robotech Series? Let's fact it This show was cool back in the day and the Animation wasn't too bad. but how about 3D models doing the transfromation (Much like Transformers: Cybertron). Now I think that would rock.

Next up? Since they Did He-Man and the Masters of the Universe idea in a rehash, how about She-Ra, Princess of Power? I mean update the characters, give them a new style, Just make it much like the He-Man Remake.

Another good Rehash or remake would be Filmore! (But instead of Junior High, Move it to the High School Level). After all It would be much Like a Hard Hitting Cop show with a High School Twist.

Then of course For the more modern Stuff, Maybe an update of Dial M for Monkey. This Dexter's Lab short, could have stood on it's own, provided they didn't intersperse it with the original idea. The Justice Friends idea could have worked as well, and there could have been more comedy and laughs as we see some good interaction.

Now I know a lot of fans know that I'm a Kim Possible fan, but what about "The Next Generation" that Follow in Kim and Ron's Footsteps? I mean The idea for Team Possible: The Next Generation, is pretty straight forward with instead of Kim/Ron/Rufus doing the work, it would be really based around 4 charactersand would be set some 5 to 10 years down the road. The four Characters would be Kim's Younger Brothers (Jim and Tim Possible), Kim's Cousin, (Joss Possible), and Ron's Little Ninja Sister (Hana Stoppable). Of course Jim and Tim (Along with Wade), would be Technical/Gadgetry, while Joss and Hana would be the next Duo that would take on those superfreaky villains. (Some of the Older villains would come back, (Example Monkey Fist, Professor Dementor, and maybe even Frugal Lucre (10 years older and still wanting to take over the world for a buck.), while new more serious villains could be added in..thus adding the variety. Of course Kim and Ron would make cameos from time to time, but they really would be just like teachers and advisors to Joss and Hana, rather than saving the world. (Leave the saving of the world to the next generation guys but give them advice.. I mean I can see Ron having a talk with 12 year old hana about Boys and dating.(or Kim telling 26 year old Joss about guys.) Of course We could even throw in Team Go from time to time (I mean Can you imagine The Go Twins (the now 26 year old Wegos) dating trying to date Joss?.. So the Drama indeed. (As for the pet? Well Naked mole rats are now passe, How about a trained otter? I like Otters.. they're fun!) But hey it's no big, right? After all seeing a 26 year old Joss using her roping and riding skills and Hana's 12 year old ninja skills with a kick butt attitude would really be an interesting match indeed. Bu I would say, Keep Kim and Ron out of the limelight altogether.. They've saved the world more than enough times.. Give those two a major rest..)

Then of course we have Totally Spies!: College Edition. Yep, Sam Clover and Alex are now out of Beverly Hills High, and are going to UCLA or USC orsome community college in LA, but from time to time Jerry (Head of WOOHP) Calls them in and instead of them going in as a team, they might go in as a duo or a trio (After all, You can't be in class and saving the world can you?) But then of course much like the Issues of High School, Sam Clover and Alex migh have new issues. But the Totally Spies! idea isn't a dead horse yet.

Then of course I do agree about the Alvin and the Chipmunks Idea as well (Making Alvin, Simon and Theodore teens that is.) But i would also have Teenage Chipettes as well and of course when you are in High School? Yep you got problems..(Brittnay getting a zit before a date..) But i think this idea does have good merit.

And I also Agree with the High School Version of American Dragon: Jake Long. Let's face it How can Jake and Rose have a relationship half a world apart? Bu that too can change as Rose comes back to New York and we have new threats in the Magical Realm (though the Huntsclan is gone, and the Dark Dragon won't be around for the next 1000 years, well we could always set up new ideas dealing with Evil magical creatures, right?

After Reading all of the posts, Some shows have good merit, some don't, it's really how you look at how these shows could be done in a future tense that makes it realize that any show can be revamped, revitalized, or even redone with some potential new ideas.

It's just all part of our imaginative ideas that might get some of these shows done. But until then, they're all proverbial pipedreams until some cartoon/anime exec reads some of these ideas and considers them.

:coyote:

How about The Transformers set in world war II?
it's based on a canceled Dreamwave comic storyline. [ although, I wish it happened.]
Autobots:allied nations
Decepticons: axis of evil.
it'd be a nice change for once.

I like to see the following turned into a animated series.

Super Mario Bros , Castlevania , Streets of Rage, a Batman Begins style cartoon , a new TMNT based on the original .

The 2003 Fox TMNT series is based on the original, or at least it's closer in concept to the original Mirage comics than the syndicated 1987 show, which was basically a goof concocted largely by Playmates toys.

And Super Mario Bros. to date has already had 3 animated series...unless you're suggesting that Nintendo make another one.

my spin-off suggestion: Birds of Prey (in the style of JLU)

we got to see Black Canary and Huntress spar and collaborate. A BoP animated series would rawk.

as for a revamp, seeing how He-Man was a cult hit I'd like to see a Thundercats redux. I read on these boards there's an animated feature in the works. Any truth to that?

Teletoon had beginned to air the season 5 episodes and the Spies are now in the university ;)

But we could still explore others possibilities, like a spin-off featuring Britney (from the episodes "Alex Quits" and "Escape from WOOHP Island") and her teammates. A prequel showing Pam, Crimson and Alice (from the episode "Spy vs Spy") in action, also Sam, Clover and Alex could let the way for a new generation of Spies being the mentors of a new generation of Spies or even now having the responsabilities of raising a family as well as work, Sam, Clover and Alex still do spy business.

Out of Jimmy's Head just premiered 2 weeks ago and you're already spinning it off? Still, that's not too bad. I've heard worse ideas.

HERE'S SOME IDEAS FOR CARTOONS:

* Another Arthur spin off - "The Friendship Adventures of Sue Ellen and Fern" featuring Sue Ellen and Fern from Marc Brown's Arthur as teenagers.

* A new Pokemon the Next Generation series reuniting the 4 Kids voices.

* A CGI animated series based on the Walt Kelly Pogo comic strip.

* An animated series featuring the Looney Tunes (including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, Lola Bunny, Tasmanian Devil, Pepe Le Pew, Foghorn Leghorn, Porky Pig, Elmer Fudd, and Yosemite Sam) as teens called "Looney Teens".

* An animated series with Looney Tunes character Pepe Le Pew called "Pepe Le Pew and the Spy Skunks".

* An animated series based on a prehistoric caveperson movie, either "One Million Years B.C.", "Quest for Fire", "Clan of the Cave Bear", or next year's "10,000 B.C.".

Nah. They're both too minor characters to warrant their own show, and PBS isn't big on teen shows.

File that under "Never Gonna Happen".

Interest would have to be generated in it first before such a project were to happen. Pogo is seriously old, and its' creator, Walt Kelly, is long dead.

Teenage Looney Tunes has already been done. Tiny Toon Adventures says hello.

What? Pepe Le Pew is too one-dimensional to carry an entire series (anyone remember Taz-Mania?) and where did you get the idea that a spy series would be the perfect outlet for Le Pew? Pepe's a lover, not a fighter.

This isn't really a spinoff or a revamp, but it is an original idea. Just as long as it wouldn't just be The Flintstones all over again.

The Ink & Paint Detective Agency - Set in the Ducktales/Darkwing Duck Universe, teenage Huey, Dewey, & Louie, along with Max Goof, Gosalyn, Honker, and a descendant of Kit Cloudkicker band together to solve crimes. Cameos from Scrooge, Donald, Darkwing, Goofy, and Gizmoduck are a must, and villains would include Pete (Who's now mayor), Flintheart Glomgold, the Beagle Boys, and several DW rogues.

Iceman - Spun off from X-Men: Evolution, the series centers of Bobby Drake and his partners in crime Cannonball and Multiple Man. The series would basically be an equal blend of comedy and action with NO Wolverine.

The Flash: Set in the DCAU, following the adventures of Wally West when he's not with the League.

Captain N: A revamp, only expanding on the Nintendo Universe, with a rotating roster not just limited to the old cast, but having Link, the Mario Bros., Kirby, Pikachu, and others coming in when needed.

Not a bad idea honestly, although I'm sure if Disney was to do something like this they'd simply stick to the classic duck and goof characters. It's a shame, cause - obviously - I'd love to see the DW characters again, even if Gosalyn will have to be voiced by someone else.

* Another Arthur spin off - "The Friendship Adventures of Sue Ellen and Fern" featuring Sue Ellen and Fern from Marc Brown's Arthur as teenagers.

[/quote] Here's another: Roger & Ratburn. A laugh and learn sitcom about Aurthur's now ex-3rd grade teacher (Ratburn) and an old friend of his named Roger Rottwiler, who he hasn't seen since college. It's one year later and cast of Aurthur are now promoted to the fourth grade. Roger is now their teacher. While Roger is more fun-loving to them than his strict-minded-always-giving-assignments-and-pop-quizzes (Mostly math) pal, Ratburn tries to prove to Roger that's there's more to life than kidding around, while Roger tries to prove just the opposite, which makes for a very interesting series.

Here's one:

Super Mighty Adventure Team
- A satirical look at the world of comic book super heroes and villains, focusing on the "heroic" exploits of a team of metahumans. Think Justice League meets The Venture Brothers.

The Fred Fred Burger and Cheese Show!
