Hey everyone,

with the 80's nostalgia boom still going strong, I was wondering what "remakes" you would like to see. Any ideas for spin-offs, specials, etc, would fit in here, too.

Personally, I'll never understandwhy Extreme Ghostbusters got canned so quickly. :mad: Although I guess a revivial is out of the question, I'll still include it here. If the show'd had the nerve to break the mold like the original RGB did, it could have been a hit, IMO. If -- by some miracle :yawn: -- it got a second chance, I'd like to see unique and scary ghosts, as well as realistic and evolving interaction between the young Ghostbusters. As far as I recall, those were the only departments this otherwise great show was lacking in.

I could also see Filmation's Ghostbusters being re-imagined, actually. IMO, the show was way ahead of it's time when it was first released. I mean, seriously, a super-intelligent ghostbusting gorilla? A time-travelling love interest with a talking pet bat? A headquarter full of sentient, ghostly equipment? I know I'd love to see a show as quirky as that again! Prime Evil and his crew serving as a permanent threat is another plus in my book. Even back in the day, it gave the show a (then) rare feeling of continuity and scale. IMHO,this concept could be easily re-vamped to produce a dark, epic show with good continuity and enough humor to keep it from going over the edge.

Power Rangers is another show just begging for a re-design, IMO, but since it's not a cartoon, I'll keep my creative juices from overflowing (unless you insist. :p)

What's your 2 cents on this whole issue?
 
here are a few ideas a rowedyruff boys spin-off would be a female friend of proffesser ultuim adotp them and trys to turn them good a new jetsons if they made it like futurerama and a cartoon based off the invincable comics with shows like danny phantom and ameracan dragon he should fit right in

Personally, I'd love to see a Sonic TV series based off of the Archie comics, if not then the OLDER Sonic games, or possibly the continuation of SonicSATAM (yes, I'm dreaming something rather impossible.)


A NEW Casper cartoon Series based off of the 1995 Movie and series, only this time maybe it has a continual plot-line and depth to characters rather than the random episodes and goof-offs we seen. (Which were funny and as I've stated, I LOVED them, but, in this time we need a plot-line.)

Then I could put my character in it...and... *hit with a brick*....ok, back on track.

Alvin and the Chipmunks as teenagers would be AWESOME, and in the old style even BETTER!

Other than that, Maybe a Lion King TV series other than Timon and Pumbaa. Maybe one where it shows from when Mufasa and Scar were cubs or something...o_O That'd be interesting. Then we could learn about their past and their relatives...and...etc..
 
Why Kids WB? Beetlejuice originally ran on ABC from 1989 to 1992, then it moved to FOX from 1991 to 1993. However, the series was co-produced by Warner Brothers, so I suppose Kids WB could air it, although they never did before.



How? The former is a domestic comedy in the vein of Blondie, and the latter is a sophisticated sci-fi parody. The Jetsons and Futurama have nothing in common except that they're both set in the distant future. Do you want Rosie the Robot telling people to bite her shiny metal a**? You need to explain this one.
 
Not to nitpick, but that's not so much a spinoff as it is a rehash. That's basically just a gender-swapped Powerpuff Girls. The only things that make the Rowdyruffs different from the Powerpuffs are that a) they're boys and b) they're evil. Change either of those things, and the Rowdyruffs are even more redundant than they already are. IMHO, Craig McCracken was right in his not wanting to bring the RRBs back after their initial appearance.

But, I'd fancy an incarnation of The Flintstones... for a show that had a more successful run than the original Scooby-Doo, it sure doesn't get the same amount of acknowledgement nowadays.
 
Ghostbusters was a show about men in multicolored jumpsuits who live in a firehouse and use backpacks with laser guns to trap ghosts, creatures and creepies. How "adult" is it supposed to get?

Myself, I'd like to see a new Warner Brothers animated series along the lines of Animaniacs. Or possibly a WB take on a Heroes like TV show, played for laughs. Perhaps even a City of Heroes animated series.

I'd also like to see a TV show about an interracial family where the parents are of different races (and are not stepparents) but otherwise, they're just like any other family. (Crazy thought, I know!)
 
i'm still new here and Istill don't know how to seprate the paragraphs to make list and I've tried every icon they got here. and for that jetsons questen the jetsons were already consider sci-fi when futurerama first came out tv guide seid it was a darker jetsons and george jetson was listed one of top science fiction charters of all time futurerama is basicelly to the jetsons what the simpsons are to the flintstones

That always works for me. BTW, beginning your sentences with capital letters and ending them punctuations wouldn't hurt either.

I'm not denying that, but lots of shows are considered sci-fi. In fact, there are enough sci-fi TV shows and movies that there's an entire cable channel devoted to the genre. Just because both The Jetsons and Futurama both happen to fall into that particular category, that doesn't mean that they're anything alike.

And in that same article, Matt Groening said that when Futurama was still in it's conceptual stages, that he "had no idea what the series would be like, except that it definitely would not be The Jetsons." Magazines like TV Guide feel the need to compare something new to an established show that already exists so that the audience can have something to compare the new series to. TV Guide's use of a clever analogy shouldn't be taken as gospel because it was never meant to be taken literally.

Your opinion =/= fact. I still don't see how the 2 shows are in any way alike, besides the fact that both shows are set in the distant future. The Jetsons is about a family. Futurama is not. Futurama has dealt with world threatening crises and alien invasions. The Jetsons' biggest hangups have been Geroge getting fired from his job or Judy getting a date for the prom. The Jetsons is just a 1960s domestic comedy with sleek, futuristic wrapping paper. A more accurate statement would be that The Jetsons is to Blondie & Dagwood what The Flintstones is to The Honeymooners.

And anyway, all I asked was that you explain how you propose to make The Jetsons more like Futurama, which you still haven't done yet.
 
Althoguh they ain't 80's shows, I'd love to see a Homestar Runner TV Series(It would fit perfectly on CN), or Ebolaworld Cartoons(Made by the amazing Sam T, whose works have been featured on the Nicktoons Network Festival and makes such cartoons as Taco-Man, Unbeleivably Messed Up Bible Stroeis, and the George Bush Show) which would go great on [as]

Maybe they should make a web show series to air Sundays at 9:30. They Could air Homestar Runner, Partially edited Ebolaworld cartoons, and maybe make some of their own or incoprate other web show artisists such as Knox(Who makes cartoons with blue clay guys that incorporates violence and also stupid videoes_
 
I'd kind of like to see a Robin: The Animated Series with Tim Drake with a chance to introduce some great characters like The Spoiler and the Cassandra Cain Batgirl as well.

A Captain Marvel series would also be pretty good without all the talking tigers and crap.
