pistol grip fishing rods?

I have an old 5.5 foot daiwa light action rod (Use for small and large mouth). It has a nylon Pistol Grip (Reinforced) the reel saddle is recessed “perfect for my bait caster”. Well it’s old and I put Braid line in it and it cut the first guide all to heck. I ordered all the stuff to put new Guides on it, but I would like to get another pole with the same options. And not the Shakespeare version of a cork Pistol Grip (cheep) I tried using other rids without the Pistol Grip, and it just feels clumsy and I’m not as accurate with it?

it took me a long time to go from pistol grips to pitching sticks but even accuracy in casting can get better when two hands are performing the task. I like fiberglass and graphite combination rods and still use an old favorite boron zebco rod but the problem is it has lost all of it's back bone and I target good sized fish with light line all the time so it's pretty much retired. Do your self a favor though and re invent a new and better casting accuracy with a new pitching stick. Take your reel with you and check it in at every store and try it on all the rods check for balance and comfort. You will be amazed at how accurately you can cast after a few tries at it.

I own nearly all kinds of rods. But having grew up with the pistol grip rods I tend to favor them a lot. Just look at what's available and what feels good to you and go from there. I also feel I can cast with more accuracy with the pistol grip.
