Well, rumours are now getting stronger about a new film in the series being made however there are now lots of rumours to just who is going to be in this new film.

Kiera Knightly wants out, so she is looking less likely to feature and Orlando Bloom seems to be out too. Leaving Jack.

It's been rumoured jack could try and find the fountain of youth.

There was talk of films 4 - 6 right after the third one came out. Losing KN & OB wouldn't be too bad a loss to the series. There would obviously be a new 'love' interest. What would be interesting would be whether Jeffery Rush stays or goes. They would need a very good replacement if he left.
 
Im not sure, it will turn out like Narnia, in the end, it will have evolved so much the orginal characters will leave and it all enRAB on a rather dissapointing note.
 
I agree. Jack & the Black Pearl are the essential elements. Keep Depp and some of the crew (Crook etc...) and you have a viable continuation. Otherwise, forget it!
 
they could easily get away with it. I'm not the biggest POTC fan but the impression i got was that the main appeal of these films was Captain Jack, so as long as they can get Johnny Depp back, they are on to a winner.

it is bound to happen eventually, so would you rather they did it now whilst Depp is at the top of his game, or left it for years for when he is a shadow of his former self? (like they did with Indy 4)
 
It wouldn't feature Keira or Orlando because their characters are doing other things for ten years after At World's End. It would be better to introduce new people. They should do a standalone 2 hour adventure featuring Jack and Barbossa.
