Pirates of the carribbean at world's end.

I saw it last night at a runthrough at work, and I really enjoyed it - more than Dead Mans Chest anyway. Though I do agree about the length - we're having a 10 minute intermission in all our showings.

There was an awful lot going on which is why it got almost messy at times in terms of the storyline, but Johnny Depp was great, I loved Keith RicharRAB, and the effects were pretty impressive.

I don't know that it would convert non POTC fans, but I still think it will go down better than Dead Mans Chest did.

I enjoyed it, though my bum had had enough of that cinema seat about an hour before it ended :D

However:

I was disappointed about Calypso. Once she was set free, that was it!! I thought she'd go after all the brethren for binding her, or something! Or that maybe she'd sort out captain shortarse before he killed all the pirates.

On the other hand, didn't know about the get out clause for Will, so that was good to know.

Yeah I have to agree as I thought it was very good but it was a bit boring in the middle bit. It was better than the second film but not as good as the first film. By the way wait untill after the credits for an extra bit!

i saw this on thursday. i loved every second, i went dressed as a pirate hehe. indeed there were some confusing bits, but it all got explained. it was nice at the end

to know the curse has finally been lifted from the flying dutchmen
, i dont like orlando, but he did do good in,

I didn't like the fact it was almost an after thought - also a lot of people won't have seen the bit at the end nor understand the implications of it. So in effect for a lot of people it is a sad ending.
It should have just been happy. Cuts out all the confusion inbetween then.
But at least it is! I hope they put the deleted/extra scenes on the DVD.

Oh dear, what a mess. Will Hollywood never learn that it doesn't matter how much money you spend on pretty CGI and loud bangs if the script is terrible. I'm struggling to see how anyone found the plot confusing; I'm still trying to find a plot to be confused about. This could have been called 'POTC: 22 short stories about the Black Pearl'. It didn't work as a film in its own right and the whole thing definitely didn't work as a trilogy, if indeed it was intended to.

Loved It

First one I have seen at the pictures even though I seen the First one years ago I never got round to going to see DMC at the cinema. Loved it Loved it Loved it though.

Didn't find it confusing since its a kiRAB film really and wasn't very complicated I thought. Only thing that actually confused me was which English man was which since they all had the same clothes/wigs on lol, that was sorted out when one of them was killed by Wills dad thankfully.

I really liked Keira in this film, much moreso than the first two, same with Orlando Bloom, much improved.

Capt. jack was hilarious, i took it the multiple Jacks were just him going insane since he was alone on the Island.

It was great

Sadly the state of the film industry these days mean the makers have DVRAB in mind from the start. In order to release 2-disc editions, Extended editions, Director's cuts etc they hack away at the cinema version.

It's a cynical move to make more money which is harming the original version (indeed the version that'll be seen by most in the cinema or on television).

Don't worry you are not the only one. When
Will seemingly died
My daughter very kindly asked in a very loud voice why I was crying. :o

I didn't wait to see the end of the credits so didn't know about this extrascene until I read about it on here. I am a very happy chappy now. :)

I just got back from seeing POTC3 and I really enjoyed it but it was a bit boring in the middle bit. I agree with what people have been saying about it being better than the second film but not as good as the first film. It is worth staying untill after the credits for the extra scene!

Hmm, I'm underwhelmed. I've been waiting for this film all year, it was just meh. Made me long for the good old days of the second film. Although, for the first time ever, I thought Keira Knightley was really good, my opinion of her as an actress has done a 180. I spent the majority of the film wondering what the hell was going on, it was a bit of a mess, and I felt some of the cool characters, like Tia Dalma were wasted. It just fell flat for me I'm afraid. However I'll watch anything with Jack Sparrow in it so I will be buying the DVD!

Intresting! Thanks for that!

As for PotC IV - heres what one pundit has speculated. *Please bear in mind that this is all rumour so far and the author of this quote has been know to embelish things now and again*

FYI Pirates of the Carribean can be found in New Orleans Sq. in Disneyland, CA.

Just trying to save the confusion about the ending of the film - the curse has not been lifted off of Will, but he is returning to land for a day which is part of the curse. He is allowed one day on land every 10 years. That is why Davey Jones (in the second and third films) couldn't make "port" because it was not his day to go on land. That is also why Davey Jones was in a bucket of sea water when they were on land in the third film. :D

I loved the first 2 movies but like others, I felt like this dragged a lot and was really confusing at parts. It was still entertaining but for me, it was the worst of the trilogy.

I think Calypso was the one who changed the winRAB on both of the boats at the end. Notice how the Black Pearl and the Flying Dutchman both had the winRAB on their side and then were interlocked in that whirlpool. I think that was her doing but I could be wrong.
