Pirates of the carribbean at world's end.

Saw it this evening, absolutely loved it. The penis envy/ telescope jokes were hilarious... and the bit where Gibbs throws Jack's hat! Hilarious. I got a little lost too, but worked out about Tia Dalma at the end of the last film so knew what was coming!!

Was the one playing Elizabeth's son in the after the credits bit the same actor who played the young boy who got hung at the beginning because if so that's really silly?

I thought it was an excellent movie!

I loved the fact that it had a complex storyline that wasn't necessarily easy to follow. If it was too simple people would still be complaining! I think the different storylines reflected the whole point of being pirates. They all had their own motives for their actions. With so many main characters, it did get a bit confusing, but more interesting.

There were some very surreal moments, I agree. But I don't think they take anything away from the movie. If anything, they are quite funny and entertaining once you get over the initial "wtf?" reaction.

The CGI was fantastic. The fight scenes were really well choreographed. There were some very sad scenes thrown in for good measure. Johnny Depp was his usual brilliant self (I defy anyone to not love Capt Jack).

I will definitely be buying this for my dvd collection.

The thing about the Pirates movies is that they're based on an amusement ride whereas LOTR was based on an established series of books based on a detailed universe. Pirates didn't really justify more than one sequel and the story of 2 and 3 could easily have been contained in one film IMO.

just got back from seeing it, and even though it was really good, im very confused about what happend and why.

still loved it though, maybe its me, i still dont understand dead mans chest fully and i have seen that loaRAB of time.

I should hide this in case it's deemed spoilerific-

What relevance was Calypso/Tia Dalma to the actual plot? All that fuss about releasing the Goddess and what impact did it have? Just seemed like a waste of time in an already too long movie.

And those little Captain Jacks in his hair looked so naff.

I hated the second one to no end! the third is worse.

the original was so good. it a pity they followed it up with these 2 back-to-back sequels - just like the matrix. and just like the matrix films - very disappointing.
they just seemed to make it up as they went along.

the Transformer trailer was the best part of it all!

I missed the first 15 minutes of the film and the scenes after the credits but from what I have read here:

after 10 years then surely the boy singing on the cliff could well be Will & Elizabeth's son ?

I saw the trailer on Sunday, when me and my sisters went to see Spiderman 3. Really good trailer and its out on Bank Holiday and you know what that means!! :)

It was not in that scene. The scene merely hints that he went squiddy because he didn't do his duty in ferrying souls, and that Tia didn't wait for him on his 'one day'. Nothing so much as implying curses being lifted was there. Seen it several times, it really wasn't there either.

I. Cannot. Believe. I. Missed. That!

AHHHHH
Their son?
Well anyway, before I heard that, I though the ending was terrible. It wasn't plot-line bad, but it just wasn't the way I wanted it to be! The extra scene redeems it a little. It DOES!

Edit: Ooo I found it
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2TCyzRDiA6w. I think that, from this
it's definately their child

Does this mean
the curse is over? Because didn't Davy Jones return after 10 years and Calypso wasn't there, so he was still cursed. Is Will not?

That is a very good question. However if thats right then
what happens to the Dutchman? Its repeated many times that the Dutchman must always have a Captain. So if it is broken then who will do the job?

I loved the first one, quite liked the second but was very disappointed by this one - it dragged and didn't have much humour or any real spark. Special effects aren't enough without a decent plot and dialogue! Depp still lovely, though.

Because as I said I took my son who desperately wanted to see it, as a parent I quite often have to do things I dont want to do but you try saying no to those puppy dog eyes.;)
