Pirates of the carribbean at world's end.

I'll try and go over the DVD in the next couple of days - find out exactly what they said - there's something about it on there. You might be right though - they signed for 3 if the first was a success.

I just seem to remember one of the writers saying they had trouble coming up with the plot for the 2nd as they didn't expect there to be one. I'll try to find the interview and put details up here.

Back on topic - I watched AWE last night - I did enjoy it, still think the first is the best, but I will be adding this one to the DVD collection when it comes out.

Sound of a young boy singing the pirate (yo-ho) song. Elizabeth on the coastline (she's aged alarmingly well in 10 years) with young boy (about ten years old - he's Turner Jr, and is the one singing). Sun sets. Flash of green light, and the Dutchman appears, with Will stood on the prow. Will no longer has the scar across his chest. He smiles. She smiles. We all smile. Seems the curse is lifted. Fade to black.Interestingly, I had that reaction to part 2 - which seemed to go on forever - but was not bored for part 3.

Bump above, I agree. There is not really a way to get Will and Elizabeth into the next one, there story is finished but there are many ways they can move Jack.
I thought the film was great, my fav out of the three. There was great humour from Johnny Depp and as expected the cameo from Keith RicharRAB was also pretty cool.
I liked the twists and turns of the different parts of the cultures and the meetings of all the different pirates.
There was great images of the oceans and the places they traveled, as like the previous two and also like the previous two, the acting was great.

Sorry but I thought it was complete and utter tripe.
I took my son to see it just as I had the first two and as bad as the first two were (and I thought they were woefull) the third is just dire, really really bad.
Johnny Depp should of just been told to stop it. His third rate Keith RicharRAB impression just isnt funny and that alone is enough to ruin the film.
Add poor performances from Orlando Bloom and wotsit kneightly and you have a turkey of epic preportions, and thats before you come to the dire script.
Without doubt one of the very worst films I have ever seen!!

i big disappointment to me! far too long and frankly dull an tedious for long stretches plus the plot was just one big mess.

And the really disappointing thing about it was that it wasn't particularly funny. Only a few bits that really stand out as being funny to me were the big Captain Jack tells Gibbs he may throw his hat up then tells him to go and get out, an other bit being right at the end where the Black Pearl has sailed away without Jack and when Barbossa discovers Jack has cut a big circle out an important map. But it was nothing compared to the others. DMC "It's a jar of dirt......." that scene still cracks me up :D

It was almost like the director and the script writers realsied it wasn't all that funny so they tried to compensate for it by having multiple jacks on screen at the one time, it just got all to much

by the end of it i was much more excited about the fact that i had seen it on the second top floor of the cineworld on renfrew street, glasgow, thats 1 cool cinema..thats a bit sad eh :o

Thanks The Icon

And yeah it is true. Just been on the IMDb site were theres is a link to explain that 2 scenes were actually cut from the film that would have explained the curse being lifted in the end.

Just come back from seeing this and I really loved it - much better than the 2nd. You can never match the sheer joy of the first film because it was so unexpected but this one really brought it all together.

The Davy Jones's locker bit was rather bizarre and, possibly, a bit slow but I love the fact that Jack
continued to see multiple versions of himself even after he left
.

Other than that I thought it was excellent with lots of neat references to the first movie in particular.

There are two types of confusing/convoluted movie for me - the first type is where I find the plot a bit mangled but can't be bothered to watch again and try and spot stuff I missed the first time and the second is the complete opposite: AWE had me already resolving to go back again and see it to clarify some of the details before I even left the cinema.:D

Another good point is that, in a packed cinema and on a relatively early showing with a large number of children in the audience, nobody left for the entire duration of what is a very long movie so something was definitely keeping everyone engaged.;)
