Really? They certainly announced that Depp, Knightley and Bloom had signed for three films before the first was released - as there was a bit of a hoo-ha that they'd got Depp to sign up to three movies (no easy task, it seems). It was probably a situation like Star Wars - where they wanted to make three, but waited until the first had (or hadn't) worked to decide for sure. How odd.
 
it was better than part 2 but that isnt saying too much. WAY too long, too many characters gaving their own story arcs, johnny depp im sorry wasn't remotely funny...

i think the series has been trying to ape the original star wars..

end of part 2, the anto hero is taken away

part 3 is split into 2 acts - the first rescuing the anti hero from davy jones locker / jabba, second act the bit battle

it comes to something that the only slightly touching scene was when calypso touched davy jones
 
I thought the double-act of the monkey ("Thank you Jack") and the parrot ("Abandon ship!") was just one of many brilliant little touches in this movie - for me, the whole thing really delivered :D no easy feat given the level of expectation it had to meet.

Can't wait to go see it again:)
 
:cry: I Missed the end credit scene and cant afford to go see it again until i get paid, anyone tell me what happens and does it involve the doggy?
 
I was pretty disappointed with this film. I was really looking forward to it and although it was ok, I thought it was pretty poorly done. The special effects etc are fantastic, but the story line was all over the place and a tad confusing, I'm still a bit puzzled. I even nodded off towarRAB the end :o I think another thing was that Keira Knightley's character plays a much bigger role and she just came across as pretty cocky, arrogant and unlikeable. The same with Will, I just didn't like either of the characters this time round and it made it hard to care, when most the story was involving them. I still think Johnny Depp is fantastic in this role and it was great to see Keith RicharRAB in it after all this time.
I'd watch the next one (if they make one) and I might even go and watch it again on an Orange Wednesday or something, see if it makes any more sense the second time round.
 
I am looking forward to this film and its great that Geoffrey Rush is back for this one

But as usual the only downside to this film like the previous 2 is Keira Knightley and Orlando Bloom
 
It was alright, however the guys changing sides so much, it lost all meaning. Nobody reacted badly to the double crosses. The film was too long. Another blockbuster. Another letdown.
 
I think this was probably the funniest one

AFAIK if there is a fourth one Will and Elizabeth won't feature. It's been said all along that if they go beyond this trilogy it'll likely only include Depp and possibly Rush.
