Pirates of the carribbean at world's end.

Saw this on Friday, loved every minute! Understood everything except keeping track of who was double crossing who at any one time!

Im going to see it again as often as I can!

Not necessarily:

I believe that it was said that Will gets 1 day on land for every 10 years on the ship, so really he's not free at all

Hope that didn't make you depressed again, lol.

I was looking forward to this and took my 10 year old daughter to see it with a couple of her frienRAB. I don't think I have ever been as bored with a movie I chose to see as I was with this one. I nearly walked out at the interval.:(

I was really looking forward to Pirates Of The Caribbean 3 until i heard Keira Knightley has a bigger role in the film and thats almost enough to put me off watching it

Saw it tonight and thought it was brillant.

But isnt Will still cursed...the Captain of the Flying Dutchman can walk on land for a day every ten years. So as far as I read the ending he was coming back for his day on land. (nothing to do with the curse being lifted)

Anyway I say give the monkey an Oscar!

Just had a thought about this. If the curse is broken and Will is no longer captain of The Flying Dutchman - doesn't that make him, well, dead?

Lol no, I remembered (and someone else on this thread confirmed) that the Captain of the Flying Dutchman can be free after 10 years if his love is waiting for him; this is why Davy Jones was still cursed (because Calypso didn't wait for him).

I saw it today, it is great but i did get a bit overwhelmed by how many subplots there were and which ship who was on, Jonny as usual dazzled, Keira did have more of a part, but sadly in my opinion she doesnt have the presence to carry the role, so i ignored most of her bits, Orlando seemed to enjoy this one the most as he could finally be a pirate and was also rather sneaky in it, Bill Nighy gave a great performance and we see the other side to Davy Jones, Keith RicharRAB was hilarious, to be honest i felt the film needed less characters than it had, less subplots, but all in all im still on a buzz after watching it :) :).

But that's what I mean. They don't give him a happy ending in the actual run of the film. They set it all up and they have a bittersweet tragedy. Will lives but can't be with Elizabeth.

Then they change it to a happy ending ten years later in an after-the-credits-have-rolled 10 second scene.

I'd rather the film built to it's conclusion and stuck with it. Either Will gets cursed and is forced to command the Dutchman for eternity, or he and Elizabeth live happily ever after.

If they simply stuck with the filmed ending (instead of the after credits scene) at least they could have had a story for Pirates 4, if they make it. This way, as Lea27 says, what will they do? Make everyone ten years older for the next one?

I'm guessing if they bother to bring Will and Elizabeth back, they will just forget about this extra scene.
