Pirates Of The Caribbean 4

(This is not a complaint at you OP).

He had already signed on before this - they announced it at the same time as announcing he's going to play Tonto in the Lone Ranger movie.

The reason for the big payout is probably to stop him from walking since he was disappointed that the Studio Chairman Dick Cook was sacked/left.

I disagree.Keira Knightly was splendid in her role and Orlando Bloom was perfect as the 'straight man' to Johnny Depp's Captain Jack. The film wasn't really about Jack anyway, the 'journey' belonged to Will & Elizabeth.

The Swan-Tuner chapter was pretty much closed at the end of AWE. The Sparrow-Barbossa one can go on. Whether it should is an entirely different matter.

Who knows, Blackbeard might do Sparrow in so that will end it all.

Pirates was originally intended just to be one film, wasn't it? The fact that 'Curse of the Black Pearl' is far and away the best of the three (and that is not just my opinion) would tend to argue that. I'm always game to watch a Johnny Depp movie, but even I think that would be a Sparrow too far. It can't be as if he neeRAB the money.

^haha, now Russell would be perfect as Jack Sparrow's brother....I don't mind another POTC movie, more Johnny Depp yes please! :D ....It will be interesting to see Penelope Cruz in this....xo

I think it's sounding quite good at the moment, certainly promising signs anyway.

Will and Elizabeth have played their part in the story so it's good to see them gone, I would be far less interested if their characters had been brought back.

Yes, but when a film makes 5 times it's budget then it just has to be milked for more.

2+3 just felt rushed and Jack Sparrow became a caricature of himself. But then they are kiRAB films and the kiRAB loved them all regardless.

The first was reasonable. 2 and 3 are perhaps the dullest, most convoluted films to carry the term "blockbuster". Utterly perplexed at how they did so well at the box office.
