Pirates of the Caribbean 4 (oh by the way not till 2011)

No guys, i am not trying to spread rumours, its official, a Pirates of the Caribbean 4 is brewing in the cinematic tea-pot, but will it be a budget cup of tea, or a quality brew?

Well waiting as long as till 2011 people might end up thinking 'what happened in the last one?' or 'well i have totally forgot the storyline'.

To be honest regardless whether you are a hardcore POTC fan, by 2011 its going to be a novelty well worn off.

My view anyway.

How about yours? :D

I only liked the first one also.

Quite surprised they're making a fourth one actually, I know 'At World's End' probably still broke some sort of box office record but I don't remember reading one positive review about it!

The first one was just bearable, I can only take so much of Keira Knightly jutting her chin out and Orlando jutting his chest out. I managed about 20 mins of the second one before I had to leave the room, so for me one was enough and that was mainly due to Johnny Depp.

I didn't like the first one much because I didn't like the Orlando Bloom character. I liked the other two more. They were very dense; you had to pay attention.

Cup of Happy Shopper bargain bin Gnat's wee tea methinks.

Two was just about bearable, I only made it through three by having lots of tea and cake stops.

Disappointed that Mr Depp is doing it. I suppose we all have a price...

That man actually makes me want to kill something. Violently.

Are we now going to have him prancing about singing a sea shanty in his ear-hurting "I haven't hit puberty" voice?

Still, he could prove me wrong...

LOL at the post above me :D:D

I think whatever Efron does i will be reminded of Hairspray and HSM.

He will never seem like an actor that is not a tween. I don't know how to explain, he just can't do gritty films...not saying POFTC is gritty but still, i don't think i can distance him from his former disney roles

Basically he neeRAB to ditch the teen following and one way by doing that is ditching the leech of a girlfriend that is Vanessa whatever.

Same here. I just hope that Gore Verbinski directs it. Oh, and that rumours of Russell "I have no talent but I try and put on silly voices and talk loudly to make up for it" Brand being in it are utterly false.

That was my thought too:D Mixed feelings about this. The first one was great, the second was pretty lame, but I'm yet to (properly) see the third so I don't like to pass judgement.

I still can't figure out why some people didn't like the 2nd and 3rd films. For me they were incredibly entertaining and nice and complex. Or were they simply TOO complex for some people who would have preferred something that didn't require them to use their brains? (no insult intended by that statement BTW - sometimes even a film snob like me prefers 'brain dead' films).

Nope, I didn't like them purely because of the totally different feel of them opposed to the first one, and I really just thought they were pointless films, as I feel personally the first one told the story it needed to tell, without sequels getting it down. Whenever I think about 'Pirates Of The Caribbean', I only think of the first film on its own, and do not count them as a series.

I see that The Sun are so desperate to yak about Brand that they're re-hashing old info - the rumour about Brand (and that's all it is, an unfounded rumour, a bit like the one about Zac Efron) is without any substance whatsoever.

Nothing to see here, move along. :)
