Then don't post your message as a Thank You note. There were plenty

Works for me! I tend to avoid the lemon part or minimize it as to me, it
masks too much flavor as well. I do use a little bit of calamansi powder
(can't get fresh ones here) to 'brighten' but not much of it.

I forget the name of the exact dish but there's one (Mediterranean) that
uses all that in a mostly clear broth and you'd put the noodles at the
bottom. Sometimes you see a few bits of fresh tomato cut up and in there
but as they aren't turned to sauce or paste, they work without mucking the
seafood flavor.

Another base without much lemon is to use lots of pepper (white if no color
is desired but I like the black specks for contrast). To that, i add a
little fine grated romano near end as we like the almost pebbley texture of
the cheese in there.

Yeah, that's it. Never mind that I sent out 3 unprovoked packages in
the last 16-18 months and received two from a different 2 people, and
you never heard a peep out of any of us. With the exception of one
involving which was mentioned in passing about 8
months later as part of an unrelated discussion (Zapp's Voodoo Potato
Chips).

Of course they were all sock puppets of mine

Yup! I missed much of the list while clearing out threads here but I caught
enough to know you got some of the non-standard stuff which is just what
such fun little exchanges are all about.

Grin, she may not be a gift exchanger. Me, I enjoy it. If Blake doesn't
take me up on the offer, wanna do one between us? I think you'd really
enjoy just a box of odd (but not too hard to make) asian stuffs. Some
premade (eat out of the bag) and some you cook with. Doesn't have to be
food or expensive stuff. Just pure fun!

My family just will not eat brown rice. I want to try red but haven't yet.

Grin!

Works for me!

I saw! LOL!

Thats why when he and i did one, we agreed cheapest bulk rate and expect 2-3
months for delivery (grin). It wasn't that long but it was lucjk of the
draw there.

Yup! Same brand he sent me! They say the differnce in sea salts is the
minor addition of local minerals. It's not all the time from 'dehydrating
fresh sea water' but can be from salt flats on the land clarified to remove
actual sand and such.

Beat 'em over the head.

Actually, it's not that important a difference -- although brown
rice is slightly more nutritious than white rice, they are
both pretty much empty calories. Other grains -- wheat, spelt, quinoa,
wild rice etc. are better bets. Perhaps they will eat couscous.
