In Summer, try the strawberry farm on hwy 84, just a few hundred yards
East of the San Gregorio USPO/GenStore which is only about one mile
East of where Hwy 84 dead ends into Hwy 1, eleven miles South of
Half-Moon Bay. Best strawbs in NorCal. Excellent day-trip, too.
I used to love driving to The Coast and buying great produce on that
stretch between Pacifica and Santa Cruz. Artichokes, strawberries,
olallieberries, etc.
Maybe stop for steamed clams and a martini at Moss Beach Distillery:

some fresh Dungeness crabs off the fishing boats, both at Pillar Point

Slow for a chance glance at the nude beach jes North of SC. Can't
really see if from the highway, but you always noticed the slow-down
of traffic after the sign.
Damn! I don't miss CA, but I sure miss that stretch of road.
Specially now, with six inches of fresh snow and an 8am temp of -7F,
here in beautiful no-downtown LessOxygen, CO!
