yeah the alternative ending would have been horrible, but i really think (hope) it was just a joke and they really weren't even gonna consider that. hey, i was thinking we can start a game of some sort to spread the pineapple express love. maybe we can all write our favorite quote from the movie or scene or something like that. within reason, of course, since the dialogue is pretty raunchy for the most part.

by far, my favorite quote had to be: "Smell it. It's like God's V****a." haha, priceless!

Love them!

Its not even that its depressing its just a stupid and terrible ending. Thank god they didn't use it.

 Same here! I was like, I don't want that to happen, it's depressing. I much prefer the one we got in the cinema

I'd love to see this, it sounds like it'd be bizarre, but awesome! And Seth's characters were quite different so I bet they could make it work.

Heres a link to it Video - Empire: Pineapple Express Alternative Ending - The Pineapple Express, Movies

Thank god they didn't use that it would have been a terrible ending to such a great movie.

I would love more Pineapple Express/Superbad stuff. A movie combining them would be cool but would also be weird since Seth Rogan was in both movies. But I bet they could make it work.

i have seen the alternate ending and it made me so sad! im like, NO!!!! i think that might have been just a joke for the DVD extras, but im glad that they didn't go along with it. well i also love the possibility of a pineapple express sequel and combining it with the characters of Superbad. that sounds like the funniest movie ever!

I really enjoyed this film when I went to see it, it was hilarious, and so unexpectedly violent! Have you guys seen the alternate ending? It's brilliant!

im so surprised more people haven't been on this thread! this has got to be my new favorite comedy to date! so hilarious. i never thought that id like a stoner movie so much in my life. all the characters were hilarious, altho Franco stole the show for me. next would definitely be Danny McBride as Red. omg, and the quotes are too die for! seriously the best and funniest movie i have seen in a very long time. "Thug Life!"

They're fight scene was really funny. The time outs were great. I just thought that James and Seth were great together. A great buddy action/comedy.

I thought Franco was surpisingly good too. My favorite scene was when he's thumbing a ride through his pajama pants hole & that line which I can't say was hilarious. But I thought the guy who played Red was the best. Not to be a spoiler, but the fact that he kept surviving every time was just classic. And of course my favorite quote "thug life". :lmao: When the 3 of them were fighting & calling time out I burst into tears it was so funny!

I just saw the movie last night with my friend, and we both really loved it. I thought it was hilarious. The banter back and forth between Dale and Saul was great.

I definitely agree that James Franco stole the show for me. He was fantastic as Saul, very endearing as the sweet, drug dealer. His comments about his favorite civil engineers... I was dying laughing throughout the whole thing.

Seth and James were funny as. The preview made me laugh out loud, so I was glad I wasn't disappointed by this one!

ITA. They edited the song so well into the trailer that I was sure it'd be in the movie. I love MIA, so I was a bit disappointed. It fit the film so well.

The only disappointment for me was that the song Paper Planes by M.I.A, which they constantly play during the previews was never in the actual movie itself.

That's ironic cuz I'm going to see it again tonight, but this time with my new gf. :)

i loved this movie! but my boyfriend hated it! which is weird because i thought he would like it more than me!

Hilarious movie! :lmao: James Franco cracked me up! When his foot got stuck in the window.... :rotfl:

Oh such an awesome film. Seth and James have all kinds of best bro chemistry. Seriously, Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg are geniuses at writing buddy comedies (first Superbad, now this)!

I was a little weary of James Franco since he is such a serious actor, but wow, he stole the movie as Saul. He is my favorite sweet, dumb, drug dealer. Too awesome. And when he busted in saying **** the police!" I almost died. Tears were coming out of my eyes I was laughing so hard.

The movie is so quotable too and not only when you're on the chronic. In fact, I wasn't even high when I saw the movie and I loved it.

Danny McBride was also an awesome find. He is too great as Red. Thug life will be the greatest line evah.

And my lovable Seth was perfect playing the straight man (who was stoned, so he wasn't that straight, but the less dumb of the two).

Great movie. I'm surprised more people haven't seen it on here. Maybe the ones who have are too baked to come on the computer.

I saw it over the weekend and I absolutely loved it! It's not at all what I thought it was going to be, but that actually turned out to be a good thing. It's more of an action comedy than just a stoner movie. I would definitely recommend it!
