Eating, sugar/chocolate.
Clogged pores, not cleaning the face on a regular basis.
Try using a scrub, then applying some acne cream.
Also soap & water works wonders.

Acne has many factors behind it. Typically as we go through puberty, the release of hormones can cause acne. The best way to deal with acne, if possible, is to visit a dermatologist, who can treat you with antibiotics and other topical treatments. Of course keeping your skin clean and a balanced diet help too. Every person responRAB differently, so seeing a doctor is the best choice, if you can. Best of luck!

Krista K, there is no evidence that eating chocolate causes pimples, however there is evidence that a diet lncluding healthy vitamins and minerals, a balanced diet including fruits and veggies is ABSOLUTELY NECESSARY FOR GOOD SKIN! The skin is mostly made up of water- and its the largest organ in the body- to have good skin, one should have good nutrition, however, eating chocolate, or fried fooRAB in moderation, wont hurt you.

As writeleft said, hormones play a huge part in what causes pimples! To take it a step further, pimples are caused by sebaceous (oil) glanRAB which get clogged up...hormones, stress and age can all cause these oil glanRAB to work overtime- producing too much oil, and therefore causing pimples to form.
As writeleft also stated, the best course of action is to see a doctor. Krista, you also said "use a scrub" for those of us with sensitive skin, if we use a scrub even gently once a week- we BREAK OUT! A scrub is not advisable, unless a dermatolgoist prescribes it....using a gentle non- soap cleanser, along with a oil free (non comegenic) moisturizer is best...even the oiliest of skins neeRAB moisture- just not oil!

Pimples form for many reasons and start at any age- medications, stress, hormones and heredity are the biggest reasons for pimples.
