Pilots that should've been picked up

I'd never heard of Screw on Head before - looked it up on Youtube and loved every minute. It hit all the right notes. A blend of serious gothic action and random modern humor. Everything clicked: the characters, the accents, the settings, the animation - that was a cartoon that should be picked up, no doubt.
 
I can't believe I forgot about MooBeard. That one really should have gotten picked up. Also if Korgoth was picked up I would have been more nicer to Adult swim.

Yeah there was. I may be wrong about this, but not many buffy goers really enjoyed it. I dont know much regarding on the buffy pilot.
 
Smurfs and Alvin and the Chipmunks left the network after the 89-90 season (I think Alvin might have lasted until 91, I might be wrong), but I think it would have taken more than the X-Men to hold the lineup. By the time the final season with animated shows came around, the only good show in the lineup was Spacecats.
 
Does ti still count as a pliot if it was never made because I vote for the pataki's essientla it was going to foucs on Helga from Hey Arnold during the teen ages as she missed Arnold in San Lonsoto

I'm wondering if they felt they had to choose between Modifyers and Tuff Puppy.

I don't know. There never seems to be enough money unless it's something they really want to do. Like a show about paranormal cooking or whatever they do these days.

I'd agree with Kogoth the barbarian, Welcome to Eltingville, and Moobeard. There was another series of Oh Yeah! Cartoons called Mina and the Count that I'd love to see get expanded farther.
 
I just watched it on DVD and did a search to see if anyone here was talking about it. It was sooo frickin' A. Really, really funny too, great characters and characterizations. It's really a shame that it didn't get picked up.
 
Korgoth and Eltingville both should have been series. I also still think Neon Knome should have been picked by Adult Swim and done more in the style of the pilot (even tho The Problem Solverz isn't terrible) because the pilot had a humorous element that TBS just doesn't recreate. I also think they should have picked up Snake 'N Bacon, the pilot was hilarious.

EDIT: After watching the pilot I will say that The Modifyers probably could have been rather good if brought to series. I rather like the Lacey Shadows character (at least in that persona)
 
Welcome to Eltingville was really well done, it captured the comic nearly perfectly. I think what might have killed it was that it was just too damn depressing. Nerds don't want to see themselves in that light, I mean, the Eltingville boys are all going to die alone, some of them in misadventures with Japanese sex toys or being crushed by an avalanche of sealed Star Wars figures.
 
Given the popularity of antagonistic programming and trolling viewers who watch animated shows today, I think Eltingville's major crime was debuting too early. If this hit after 2007 we would still be seeing new episodes.
 
Probably. The show might work on CN prime time today and easily could have worked for Adult Swim after it's formulative years were over.
 
I would have liked to have seen Robo Force (based off the 80s toyline) picked up. It had a one shot by Ruby-Spears that was seen in relatively few markets (its out on youtube if you look for it).
 
Sparkles & Gloom (a short which aired on Nick's Random! Cartoons), about the twin daughters of Prince Charming and a wicked witch, might have made for an interesting series, provided every story didn't take place at the Geevil School.
 
IIRC the reason why The Modifyers got picked up for production was because - and you'll never believe this - it's main character was a girl. Considering how much CN, Nick and Disney are targeting mainly preteen boys in their demographics lately, it's not surprising.

A big shame, really, it was a great short.
 
The Rayman CGI Series. Ubisoft made the CGI series to promote Rayman 2 and made a pilot and a couple of other episodes. Unfortunately, the pilot (and the others) got rejected probably due to the series not having anything to do with Rayman 2. Which is a shame, I watched some episodes on Youtube and it was pretty good.
