Picture Transfer Question

Hi all!

I have a Samsung a670 and I got the wire to connect it to my computer...thinking I could send pictures from the phone to the computer through a direct connection and not have to use my minutes to send the pics. Evidentally this is not the case. Verizon said that I'd have to download software that does that (as they make money charging to send each picture) Does anyone know where I can download this software? Thanks so much.

I was curious about this myself. I've heard of people using cables to transfer photos but I've been told that the software provided doesn't support that, so I figured there was sume third party software available.

I also have the a670 and am looking for a usb cable and software.
Radio Shack says it is too new of a model and software hasn't been adapted for it yet.

I'd appreciate knowing if anyone has any luck with cable and software.

According to Verizon, they have required the cell phone manufacturers to install the Verizon software in the camera phones they sell. The verizon software does not allow the direct downloading of photo or MIDI data. You must e-mail your photos (via Verizon) to an e-mail address to retrieve the photos. Many other cellular providers do not use limiting software, and with the USB connection, direct downloading is simple. If anyone know a way around Verizons software, please reply.

Check out mobileuploader(dot)photobucket(dot)com. All your pictures are saved automatically once you set up the service. It's $2.99/month, but well worth it for the convenience of never sending each of your photos individually again or having to cable in.

Hello,

You may be able to download the VCAST Rhapsody Software. Although it is normally used to transfer music from your computer to your phone, on most model phones you can also use it to transfer pictures. It is free software. You do not have to subscribe to the monthly subscription. VCAST Music with Rhapsody > However I am not 100% sure if the software will work with your particular phone. The problem is not that we limit the phones capability. You can plug the phone into your computer, but for your computer to recognize the phone and allow you to directly transfer the pictures you need to have software drivers, to let the computer know what type of device you are plugging in. Its not that VZW limits the ability, I am not so sure Samsung has created drivers for the computer to recognize the phone in the capacity you which to use it for direct transfers via USB.
