My male Betta fish is a picky eater. He will not eat the pellets he just spits them out and doesnt like the flakes. I've tried blood worms since he will not eat anything else. I've read that it is not good just to feed him blood worms. Is there anything suggestions on what to feed him that I haven't tried. It might be the brand of food I've tried feeding him. I've been trying to feed him topfin color enhancing betta bites and he just doesnt like them. I never had a fish as picky as him.

Bettas are known for their wide variety of personalities and food preferences. For example, one of my betta fish, Samhain, eats absolutely anything I plop into the tank, while my other, Gypsy, only eats bloodworms and flakes, much to my displeasure.

I have raised several extremely picky bettas before solely on bloodworms and never had any problems, but I would suggest only feeding them as a treat unless you have no other choice. If you want to stick to pellets, try Hikari Betta Bio-Gold pellets. Hikari's products are, in my opinion, the best on the market for fish, and most of my betta go crazy for them (the exceptions being the bloodworm-spoiled ones, of course). I would strongly suggest trying these pellets before anything else, since freeze-dried and flake foods raise the chance of your betta becoming constipated (Which isn't a serious problem, and can be quickly cured by feeding with a pea or frozen daphnia, but it can get annoying if it continues to happen and can lead to problems such as Swim Bladder Disorder).
