Picking/pulling issues

Ok, this is a strange one...does anyone have hair pulling issues? Also, I have a problem picking my fingernails, skin around my nails, picking my face. As far as hair pulling, it's small hairs, like eyebrows, eyelashes, arm hair. Is this weird or what??

You are not alone, I pull out my facial hair with tweezers. It sounds a bit weird but I kinda enjoy it. Especially the ones that grow under the skin, I find it hard to resist squeezing them out then pulling it out root and all. I also find myself pulling my nostril hair out with my fingers, as painful as it is I still do it!!! I think I need to throw away my tweezers.

omg, really??? someone like me?? wow. yes, I LOVE MY TWEEZERS! I have like 4 different ones, and they have to be in each location I am the most (work, desk, car)...ok, that's really weird admitting that. But I do love that feeling. The sharper the better!

It's called trichotillomania. It's pronounced trick-o-til-o-mania. It's an OCD. For many people it can lead to terrible scars. Pulling eyelashes can cause infections and ingrown eyelashes. Eyebrows often get more and more sparse and will not regrow. Pulling nose hairs can stimulate the staphylococcus bacteria that are naturally found in the nose, and lead to a nasty staph infection. There are many posts on the "hair problems" board regarding this condition.

I don't go as far as doing it outside my house, in fact I do it in private usually in front of a mirror!

It got so out of hand once and I started digging too deep leaving leasion on the skin. I looked like I'd been through a sewing machine.
