Michael Jordan is probably the most famous number 23 in america ($the world) tho'.
 
Well I'll not argue that he's the most famous netball player in America, however that's not saying much. If he was really famous people elsewhere would have heard of him.

Beckham is a Worldwide phenomenon, including America not limited to it.
