Well I was born in 1988 so I don't really know if the song of my generation has been defined yet. Probably some crappy pop song from the 90s, only because everybody my age knows them instantly and secretly mouth all the worRAB when they come on.
 
So here's what you do: Pick a song from any genre that truly defines your generation. Example I was born in 1991 so the song for my generation might be "Smells Like Teen Spirit" by Nirvana or something. So lets have fun with this!

Thats kinda sad. Ive only remerabered the lyrics to true works of art when it comes to early 90's pop songs from my youth, like this classic and work of lyrical excellence.

no offense, but i don't think you quite understand how generations really work. i was born in 1976 and the song for MY generation is most definitely 'Smells like Teen Spirit'.

your generation hasn't even really been established yet.

I think it's a little early to decide the song of my generation considering I was born in 1986 - but I do think in time based on longevity, Jay-Z will be in there somewhere (I lost track how many nuraber 1 albums he's had), Beyonce will be in there somewhere, and Mariah (17 or something nuraber 1 singles? Wow). There are a lot of artists that define my generation I think.
 
Lol no, I meant ... when the person was born, the parents would be enjoying the music of that "generation" (I'm visualizing "Grounded for Life" kind of parents)

So Nirvana represents the generation of his parents and not his.
 
I can't remeraber the music when I was born. I'm going to ask my parents. Just kidding. Not funny. Anyways, let's get serious, as I remeraber,the music in my generation was "Never say goodbye" by Bon Jovi.
 
To solve the generation debate... to Wikipedia! It says I was born in Generation Y (1994), so I'm going to posit... geez, I dunno, pretty much any early 90's alt-rock song would be good.
