I tried to do a search to see if a topic on this already exists but its too short (2 letters) to search for, so if anyone knows a similar thread please redirect me.

Anyway...

I just got back from a mates watching Pi, what a cool film! Its pretty crazy and some of the stuff that is suggested to you is thought provoking.

Good stuff!

Any other views?

Some fascinating stuff about the Torah and the Hebrew language in there though Peej.

According to the film, in Hebrew each letter has a numerical value. The number for "father" is 3. The number for "mother" is 41. 41+3=44, which is the number for "child."

Could your Jewish friend confirm whether any of that stuff was true?

A great film, I'd recommend it to anyone. A perfect example of how an intelligent, thought provoking script, a well considered character study and a brilliant soundtrack can wipe the floor with millions of dollars worth of special effects.

On IMDB it states how a lot of the mathematical/Hebrew stuff was made up for the film though.

Apparently even the 216 digit number, was infact, 218 digits! :D
