The ball in a computer mouse is 2.0 cm in diameter. If you move the mouse 12 cm, what is the angular displacement of the ball?

Circumference = Pi x Diameter = 2.0 Pi cm (where Pi ~ 3.1416)

Distance = N x Circumference where N is the # of rolls of the mouse ball

So N = 12 cm / 2.0 Pi cm = 6 / Pi ~ 1.9 (no units!)

i.e. the anugular displacement of the ball is about 1.9 full revolutions, or about 1.9 x 360 = 687.55 degrees.
