Problem: An arrow accelerated for a displacement of 75 cm (forward) while it is on the bow. If the arrow leaves the bow at a velocity of 75 m/s (forward), what is the average acceleration?

10 points - best answer!!!!
thanks in advance!!

s = displacement, u = initial velocity, v = final velocity, a = acceleration

s = 0.75 metres
u = 0 m/s
v = 75m/s
a = ???

We need an equation linking these 4 variables. Looking at the "Constant Acceleration Formulae" (aka SUVAT equations)

v^2 = u^2 + 2as
75 * 75 = 0 * 0 + 2*a*0.75
5625 = 1.5a
a = 3750 m/s^2
