A 9-volt battery stores approximately 16,200 joules as chemical potential energy. When connected to a motor, that energy is converted into electrical energy. This energy turns the motor, transforming the electrical energy into kinetic energy.

The kinetic energy is transformed into potential energy as the boxes in the picture are placed on a shelf 20 meters high.

If you ignore the effect of friction, the amount of work that can be done in lifting the boxes is exactly equal to the amount of potential energy stored in the battery. How many 50-Newton boxes can be lifted onto the 20-Meter shelf before all the battery's potential energy has been transformed into other forms?
