1. What is the magnitude of the acceleration of a speck of clay on the edge of a potter's wheel turning at 45 rpm (revolutions per minute) if the wheel's diameter is 32 cm??

Answer:: 3.6 m/s^2
(I tried the v=(2pi*r)/T which was (2pi*.16)/.75 but that ended up with the wrong answer)

2. A bucket of mass 2.00 kg is whirled in a vertical circle of radius 1.10 m. At the lowest point of its motion the tension in the rope supporting the bucket is 25.0 N.
a) find the speed of the bucket.
b) how fast must the bucket move at the top of the circle so that the rope does not go slack?

Answer: a) 1.7 m/s b) 3.3 m/s

(for this one i tried just solving for v in the F=m (v^2)/r ... but that came out wrong as well, for both a and b.... i'm confused as to what to try, please help me?!)
