Hi. I have been trying to learn how to use MySQL (with PHP), but I am having serious difficulty. The main problem is that I am completely clueless. Let me explain. All of the tutorials that I have been using have told me to connect to MySQL using the "mysql_connect(host, username, password)" function, but every time I try to do this I receive an error message. People here on Yahoo Answers have been telling me that you must create a database with a username and password and then connect to it. This really only confuses me more considering that I do not know how to create a database. Someone please help me. Please be very interpretive in your answer, understand that I am a complete beginner.
