Photoshop is reducing my image quality. How can I fix this?

I am importing an image in Photoshop using File<Place, but the quality of the image is much worse. I am importing from iPhoto. Any advice on how to import an image with its original quality? Thanks!

I've never had that problem. Must be the type of file you are using.

try drag n drop from the source folder to photoshop.
