Hello there, I need to know how to crop a picture. But, in a shape of one of my brushes...as in have a heart brush, and somehow make the picture you want INSIDE the brush.

In GIMP (free photoshop) I would make a new layer and print the brush on the layer (preferably transparent background) then select by color the back ground and move to the layer with your image invert the selection (in gimp it's select > invert) then cut (then make the brush layer invisible or delete it)

GIMP is great if you can't figure out how to do something in Photoshop and, if you had that, you could contact me any time for help using it.

Click on the little circle with a square around it in the lower left hand corner under the toolbar, then use the brush. Then click the circle square button and it should outline what you want to cut out. Then click on "select" then "inverse" then you can just copy that. :) Hope that helps.

If its a generic shape, you dont need to use a brush

1) have your image on a layer

2) create new layer

3) use Polygon tool > choose Custom Shape, and choose a basic shape from the menu

4) Drag your mouse to create the shape on the layer

5) right click on your layer and choose Rasterize Layer

6) Now select the shape (Ctrl _ Click on the layer)

7) choose the layer your image is on hit Ctrl + Shift + I to invert selection

8) hit delete
