Photoshop Elements 8 Slice tool using CS4 prefs?

I have Photoshop Elements 8 and need to use the slice tool.
I have read that you can obtain the slice tool by copying the preferences document from CS4 into the Elements 8 folder:

I can't seem to get it to work. It seems a little hard to believe. Has anyone got this to work?
