Why is it OK to use lower resolution photos for a website than for an 8x10 print?

What would the aspect ration of a 5x7 inch print be?

Which ISO is faster, 100 or 400?

Which has more “grain”, 100 or 400?

What would you see if a digital photo was “noisy”? In other words, what would the “grain” of a digital photo be?

Why is it OK to use lower resolution photos for a website than for an 8x10 print?

It is all in the pixels. The number of pixels in a monitor is only about 75 pixels per inch. Usually websites are concerned with how much space is used. Why place a higher resolution picture than necessary. If the original picture is used on a website, it could lead to someone saving that image and making a 8x10 out of it. If you want to sell your work, you don't give it away on the website. Let them have a taste of the image, but if they want the resolution, they have to pay for it.

What would the aspect ratio of a 5x7 inch print be? 5/5 x 7/5 = 1 to 1.4

Which ISO is faster, 100 or 400? 400 When talking iso, the larger the number the faster the film or higher the gain on the sensor.

Which has more “grain”, 100 or 400?

The faster the film, the more grain. The higher iso, the more noise.

What would you see if a digital photo was “noisy”? In other words, what would the “grain” of a digital photo be?

Renegade pixels that do not match the color of the surrounding pixels.
