PHOTOGRAPHY lenses for a Nikon D60?

I'm such a newbie. -.-

which lens for a Nikon D60 is better?

a 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G AF-S DX VR lens
or a 18-55mm lens?

or are they the same? i don't understand...
 
Look for the lens with the greatest aperture (smallest f-stop number, cited as f/3.5-5.6 above) for getting the most light to your sensors.
More light = faster possible shutter = less blurring or ability to shoot in lower light.

Depending on your budget, get the best "glass" (lens) you can afford, and see the difference in your photos!
