Photography law?+corporate firing.......?

Queston:I have recentlybeen in contact with a bus driver working for a national bus service and he told me that he has recently been fired because of him sticking two fingers up at a photographer when he was wearing his uniform?- the company later dismissed him on the grounds of unlawfully representing the firm? are they allowed to do this??????
 
would have thought his union would have helped him,however surely he has rights too not get his photo taken
