One of my riding friends saw some of my photography and asked me to come out and do a photo-shoot of her posing with her chestnut gelding. I'm really excited for the experience because It will be really good for me in developing my photography skills, but I'm a little worried because I've never done any portrait work, only landscape and nature photos. Also, she said that she wants some "artsy" photos, but I'm really not an artistic person and I prefer straight forward, technical photography, rather than pop-art or effect photography.
So anyway, I was hoping to hear from any equine photographers out there, as well as people that have had portraits done with their own horses. I need tips on camera settings (I use a Nikon D80), lighting (we'll be outdoors), and different photo compositions and poses to try for a more "artsy" effect.
Thanks!
