Photography Filters for a Canon EOS450d?

Can anybody recommend any Filters for a canon eos450d?

Im not 100% sure on if they are worth owning, so I would also appreciate any advice.

The key thing is, I don't want to spend a fortune. I keep seeing them on ebay for £1.99? Are they going to be shit?

Im a firm believer that you get what you pay for so I don't mind paying for quality, it's just at the minute I have more important things to spend my money on so cant really afford to be spending a fortune...
 
Atleast get a UV lens to protect your lens. Another one you might want to consider (especially if you shoot outdoors) is a polarizing filter.
