Photography costs?? For a wedding?

I found a photographer who is a novice- not professional- but an AMAZING photographer. In fact, she has a portfolio that surpasses any professional I've seen. Just a natural!

For my wedding, she is asking $1000 which includes two photographers and a CD afterwards. I'm guessing they'll stay the whole time. Is this reasonable? I thinks she's willing to negotiate a little.

I live near San Francisco in California if that helps with rates.
 
Xanthus is right. If you haven't seen any of her wedding shoots, ask to see them. If she has none, then she has no experience shooting weddings and $1000 is too much for someone with no experience.

If she has wedding experience and you like her work, don't guess about what is included. You need to know exactly what your money is buying.
 
yes, but has she shown you a WEDDING portfolio...THAT is the question !!!!

if she has shown you lots of pictures, but has not shown you samples of her WEDDING shots....I wouln't use her at all or pay her anything.

Wedding photography is a completely different animal, and the person doing it has to have experience shooting WEDDINGS !!
