I got a reply from a potentional client via email. They want me to take photos of their guitar collection. Not sure why, but they would like to know my pricing, etc. I've never photographed guitars before. What should I charge?
My camera is 14 megapixels.
There really aren't any other photographers in my area. If there are, they don't advertise because I can't name any except for the huge company that has done the senior photos for 20 years and they charge $600 for one photo.

You need to find out what they plan to do with the images. You may not own a camera with enough resolution for product shots.

14mp, iffy but OK depending on what they plan to do. That's generally not enough for product work.

$250 set-up fee, $200 for the CD and $75/hour shooting time for insurance snap-shots. Probably more if they need real product shots.

You should look at what other photographers are charging. For example this photographer only charges $50/hour with no set-up fees! Not really sure how he stays in business. http://redballphotography.com/info

depends.
if its for insurance documentation then its a pretty simple job.
if they want some sort of fine art display with creative lighting, etc... the price goes up. way up.
what do others in your area charge for similar work of the same quality?

EDIT
a 14 mp camera? hmmm... interesting.
