Photography 1 camera question?

I have to have a 35 mm camera for photo. It needs to be able to do all the negatives and stuff, I just don't know what to get. I looked at the FM10 from nikon, but I don't know if that's right. Can any person experienced in Photography help me?

Nikon FM10 is a good manual camera to start off with now.
The main advantage is the ability to use Nikkors. It has everything that is needed to start off. Metering is center weighted and it features a depth of field button too. Mirror can be locked up using timer function.

Now the negatives-
Camera is actually made by cosina and not Nikon but under strict quality control by Nikon. The included 35-70mm kit lens is soft.
Another problem is when ISO other than 100 is used, the lower shutter speeds give error in exposure. (This is due to the way ISO setting is changed to adjust the exposures and once understood it's no longer a problem).

Since FM2 is no longer available and the old models are hard to find, FM10 is a very good choice to start with.

This is a quick look at the FM10, if you want to learn about photography, your best choice is a manual camera and this is a good one.

I have a Nikon F301 and still use it along with my digital camera, although my Nikon has many automatic features I use it mostly on manual override.

Although digital cameras have very useful advantages there are many times when a manual film camera has more versatility, you only have three controls to think about, aperture, shutter speed and focusing, my digital camera has about 90 different options, most of which I don't even understand let alone use.
