Phones to buy Hong Kong to sell in the USA

RIght now I'm in China, but in a few days I'll be in Hong Kong. I was there before, and in the Mong Kok district (lots of small shops), I looked for a Motorola Razr V3, Slvr L6, and some others, but the prices are higher than what I could get on eBay!

Since I'm unemployed, I would like to take this opportunity to make a little money. Which phones can I buy to sell in the USA that would net the most profit? Maybe something that's not avaliable in America?

I'm a total noob on the 2006 mobile phone scene. Internet is very sporatic where I am right now, so I don't have the luxury of research. Sorry if this doesn't belong here, please ignore this post if it bothers you.

Thanks,
Jack

I don't buying in China (and its autonomous territories) will warrant a profit that you will find even appreciates your time that you have spent.

dude, dont sell something you know nothing about... no chance.

same reason im not a mechanic, i work on computers, not on cars...

go get a job at taco bell... or better yet panda express since you know so much about china now

Unless you know where to go, you aren't going to find anything cheap enough to make a profit. Retail prices are higher than in North America unless you sign a contract. I think you have a better chance finding something in China than in HK.

Either way, I don't suggest it, you will end up screwing yourself over.

Yes- you're better off buying from the mainland (better speak Chinese or they'll rip you off!) unless you know what you are doing in HK. Either way, Mong Kok might not be the best place to start. Maybe try some other places first? Of course, like the others, I don't think it's a good idea to do this without some experience (I plan to do this for a living when I get out of school, but I'll start with a paid internship first and move up from there, not jump straight to the top where I may fall in the process). Where in the mainland are you? I can recommend somewhere to start in Shanghai if you're dead-set on doing this.

Thanks for the tips guys, very much appreciated. For the record: I was born in Taiwan but lived most of my life in the USA. So I speak okay Mandarin (moderate accent) and no Cantonese, but I do have Cantonese friends to help out if need be. I'm in Shenzhen, just the other side of the border from HK, but I'll return to HK to go back home. I understand that USA cell phones are cheap, but I was just speculating if maybe there were models not avaliable in the States that may fetch top dollar in the internet's flea market.

Oh well, it was a worth a shot...
Thanks again.
