Phones swamped, servers crash as voters slam Congress

Now I understand how/why there are idiots who think "getting bumped into the next tax bracket" will somehow end up with them bringing home less money.

no Moody's or S&P no care.

but yea...it looks inevitable at this point. not sure if SP is serious, but they have hinted that not only does the ceiling need to be increase but the gov also neeRAB to come up with ~4tril in cuts to avert a downgrade.

i hope they are just bluffing. but who knows

and we arent doomed. just in a shitty situation thanks to idiot lawmakers and dipshit voters on both sides

So, let me ask simple questions.

How much is too much when it comes to taxation? At what percentage should the Federal government say "enough is enough".

The government has a spending problem and not a revenue problem.

So, you think people making under $33,000/year shouldn't have to pay any taxes?

You think that the top 5% (earnings >$159,000) should be paying more 58% of the overall tax bill?

Exactly how much do you think these individuals should be paying?

I would consider the top 1-3% wealthy.

WRONG WRONG WRONG.

He hasn't compromised at all. As a matter of fact the White House hasn't proposed ANYTHING at all.

Any other false statements you'd like to make?

Luxury gooRAB = necessities

Lower income people spend a significantly higher portion of their income on necessities needed to live... Therefore if you have a flat consumption tax you are over taxing the vast majority of the population..

I do think you need to have a flat tax but it should be along side a tiered tax system so its not an unfair burden on the average joe.....

flat tax? Yes, but you'd need other taxes too.

LUXURY TAXES MOTHER FUCKER

SIN TAXES BITCH

YOU WANNA GET FUCKED UP? DRINK SOME BEER? Pay a premium on that shit. Same with cigarettes. And fast food. And fooRAB high in fat content. And shit that's pre-processed garbage. We might as well try to at least encourage a healthier society since that'd save us money elsewhere.

Luxury taxes on items in certain price ranges. You want to buy a $1-$24,999 car? Pay X tax rate. Your car costs $24,999-$44,999? Well, you'll pay a little more. Anything over that amount? Have it an even higher rate for anything on up. Now, I say 'higher' because that's relative to whatever the fuck X would be. Also, you could change the brackets around on that sort of shit to find what would work best without hampering auto sales (which woulc happen to cars at the bottom of the brackets).

Hell, have other 'luxury' taxes for classes of items based on certain amounts. IE: you spending some money on jewlery? pay a little bit higher tax rate than the flat rate. Stupid shit for your car like rims? or a stereo? Extra tax. TVs over a certain amount? Extra tax. They're luxuries, they'd be taxed accordingly.

While flat would be great, additional rates would just add onto the flat rate and would be probably require much, much, much more.

lastly, an internet sales tax
