phones for new parents

Hi All,

So on thursday, my Cingular contract is finally up. I had been with AT&T since '96 so wow.. that's 10 years. I'm switching to Verizon because:I have had it with Cingular/AT&T after they switched their networkMy inlaws and lots of my friends have Verizon, so the in-minutes is great. FWIW, I live in Boston.
Here's the question... I need two phones, one for me, one for my wife. Now that we are parents, we don't need (or have time for!!) anything fancy, just phones that have adequate battery time and good reception. We will never use VCAST, and we'll probably only play with the features for about 5 minutes a month.

Here are the important features:Good batteryGreat ReceptionStrong enough to be knocked aroundBluetooth (we want wireless headsets)Speaker phone (again, hands free is important, when we lose the headset)
Unfortunately, both my wife and I liked the "candy bar" phones, which barely anyone makes anymore. So we're fine getting the flip type. Other than that, my wife is afraid she'll break off the antenna, so she wants an internal antenna on her phone. (can you break off a fixed nub antenna?? this might be an option)

I was planning to purchase the phones through letstalk.com (does anyone have any opinions on them?) And there are about a dozen phones we can get for free. I think I want to get the Motorola E815 for me, and I'm torn between the Samsung SCH-930 OR A950 for her (both have internal antennas). Also, the LG VX-8300 looks pretty cool. I've compared all these phones side-to-side on phonescoop.com and I can't tell any difference. How do you choose?

How does this sound? These phones will be our first non-Nokia or Ericsson!! Before you respond, remember, we will probably never use the MP3 player, games, camera, etc. AND we'll probably keep these phones till they break or we get free upgrades.

Thanks!!

Personaly I'd say you should both get the vx8300.

I'm fed up with my e815... Despite all the customizeability and such the build quality sucks. It will seem fine at first, but after 6 months the damn thing will rattle like bleans in a tin can and have dust under the screen.

Your wifes concern abotu brakign off the antenna is rubish, its actualy quite hard to do, youd have to really try. If whe means the extendible part, that can be easily and cheaply repalced usualy.
