Ok. So my dad left his phone out in his car, and accidentally left the sunroof open. Overnight, major storm came through and FLOODED his car, damaging his phone. Also, my brother's razr is damaged, and hes stuck with a 3 1/2 year old phone. So....
I was thinking getting Nextel for our family; we could really utilize the Direct Connect walkie-talkie thing, as calling for rides to and from places is very annoying, and sometimes time consuming. Also, we travel a lot, and a phone with a dedicated GPS might not be too bad.
I was wondering if Nextel would be good for a 4-Person family. My dad's looking for a basic phone without a camera and not a lot of features (i710 or i836 are the best i've seen). Cingular (what we have now) is fairly expensive, and doesnt have many non-camera phones; although some of the ones that do dont have a camera, they dont flip. He specifically wants a flip phone.
Soooo... my question:
Nextel worth it for a family? The PTT seems very convenient. Plus, the off-network walkie-talkie would be good for within our neighborhood.
Thank you.
