Phone wont recieve my emails from pc? (custom ringtones)

Hi I recently replaced my dying Audiovox phone with a Kyrocera kx160, I used to email .mid files from my pc to the auidovox all the time with no problems (custom ringtones) ..however with this new phone it wont even acknowledge any emails I send to it, as if i never sent anything even if its just a plain text message.. is this a phone specific feature or do I need to call cricket? ..

Im able to send pictures etc. FROM the phone to my email account but not the other way around, Any ideas appreciated!

Cricket seems to have started to block some attachments. I'm not sure if its based on size, file type or what but they haven't blocked all audio attachments. If you can connect to your computer via Bluetooth (I see the phone has bluetooth but i'm not sure if it has a PC profile to do so) I would try sending them that way. If that doesn't work then i would try to shorten the file your sending to see if that works or trying a different file extension.

Dang Im so close ...I called cricket and they had me reprogram the phone with the *228 procedure.. the phone now receives my emails and lets me save the audio attachments and even assign them as ringers but when I go to play them theres no sound ... the files im sending are under 100k each.

What I used to do with the Audiovox was record an audio sample on my pc from a movie / mp3 etc. (Nero wave editor) then save it into a lower quality .MP3 format and simply rename it to .MID, Then email it to my phone .. it worked every time but I guess the Kyorcera doesn't handle it properly :disappoin

unfortunately the phone uses the older bluetooth and wont let me transfer files.

Hmm if I send a file as .wav or .mp3 the phone recieves it but then says "The audio file testing.mp3 was deleted" ?? im guessing cricket is to blame there?

Yea thats how I always do it ..

When I try to assign any of the renamed .mp3 to .mid files as a ringer it says it cant because the file is corrupted.

I tried sending an actual midi file (not renamed) and those play properly but midi files just aren't the same lol.

ok heres what you gotta do........ cut the time of the mp3 song and make it less than 30 secs....... now go to my computer/tools/folder options/view

now uncheck where it says hide extensions for known file types

now go back to the mp3 file

just change the extension to .midi instead of .mp3

that should do it
