Nextel bought most of Boost. They are from Australia.

We activate all of our Boost phones before they leave just in case the person is buying them to convert them to Nextel. So we still get credit for activating.

so you mean to tell me that the nextel sales rep. that i was chatting with online lied to me. she said nextel and boost are not affliates, do you think nextel is trying their best to hide this from the boost consumers, if nextel owns boost. how come you can't get boost on nextel(sim) or nextel on boost(sim)?. the boost phone i had already had came with a boost sim, the dealer hooked me up with it, he took the boost sim out and put the nextel sim, that was better then paying at least 200 dollars for a nextel phone. i accepted a nextel phone for free, anything but the guy gave me turned out to be a better deal, anyway i do like the boost symbol on the i730 phone, i was expecting to get a nextel phone, anyway i like the boost phones to, but i prefered nextel because i did not know that you coud get boost phones on nextel. nextel owning boost will explain why boost and nextel have the same model and names for the phones(not to forget also the speaker phone feature).

Well if you were on Boost you can "upgrade" to Nextel like you said you would have to change your sim and phone. Nextel considers this an intercompany change just like switching from Sprint PCS to Nextel. The thing that sucks is the sales rep doesn't get any kind of commision so you end up paying a lot more for the phone because you are an intercompany customer. Here is the exact wording "Boost to iDEN ports are considered migrations and not subject to a $35 upgrade fee."

What about getting nextel(phones) while on the boost network? is my warranty still viod there? What does boost mobile or nextel say about that? will i run into warranty issues their?

Yes Nextel will only work on phones active on their system. So you are limited to sending it back to motorola or getting a friend to put their nextel sim in it and take it to a service center.
