Phone to maximize Bluetooth w/ Palm TX

Hello, all.

I'm a lawyer in Chicago and I have a new Palm TX PDA. I currently am a Verizon Wireless subscriber and have an old Motorola T730. I'm interested in upgrading my phone, and I'd like my new phone to play nicely with my Bluetooth-enabled Palm TX.

I envision being able to have my phone in one pocket, my TX in another pocket, and use a Bluetooth headset to talk on the phone. I'd like them all to be connected via Bluetooth. I'd like to be able to use the phone as a Bluetooth modem for the TX so that I can browse the internet (preferably at EvDO speeds) even if I'm not near a wireless hotspot. I am willing to switch providers if the new provider has the phone and the functionality I want.

I'd actually prefer that the phone not have a camera, as many courtrooms prohibit camera phones. I have no need for any major bells and whistles like MP3 players; I have an iPod for that. But it seems like all phones have cameras nowadays.

I hope you can point me in the right direction; there are so many choices out there! Thanks in advance.

The problem is that there is no CDMA drivers for palm os. Now that Verizon will start letting users tether laptops to some model phones, palm may come up with CDMA drivers, but don't hold your breath. Even with the new plans (starting at $60 mo.) V dosen't want tethering over bluetooth anyway.

Thanks for the information.

If I were to switch to another provider (I don't have any particular loyalty to Verizon, and my contract will expire in the next few months), would I be able to have this personal Bluetooth network?

you can use a verizon phone with the bluetooth and a pda. I found it when looking for information about the new dell axim i am getting. I will look around for it again, but it is possible.

here is the site i found with the tutorial for a dell axim, should be similar to a palm
